Mexican Army Shelf by ludens

This shelving unit reminds me of my desk! It's designed so that one has a variety of shelf types from which to choose depending on the need of the moment.

Layer Desk

I designed and built this desk out of cherry, ash, walnut, oak, mahogany and steel. My laptop and pad of paper fit neatly into the surface of the desk for quick access and easy cleanup.

First Attempt at Upholstery

I reupholstered this last summer, learning out of books. The chair was out of a set my grandmother got from a closing hotel a long, long time ago, and the seat was so ripped up you could see the springs. I stripped it down except for the springs (which needed retying) and put this pink stripey stuff on it. It has a few awkward moments (there's a pinch in the fabric at one point, and the double-welting falls a little flat), but mostly I was happy with how it came out.
